Trunks (トランクス; Torankusu) is the Human/Saiyan hybrid son of Bulma and Vegeta. He is President of the Capsule Corporation, and a core member of Earth's Super Warriors in the online doujinshi Dragon Ball New Age.
Despite taking place in an alternate timeline, the history of DBNA's Trunks differs very little to the mainstream timeline's Trunks.
Trunks has his mother's hair and eye color (purple and blue, respectively), although the latter are shaped more like his father's; as per his paternal heritage, his hair and eyes turn blond and (pupil-less) green when he becomes a Super Saiyan. Currently in DBNA, Trunks has seemingly abandoned his GT Clothing and dresses more like Fututre Trunks. He is the only male Saiyan in the series not to have black or brown hair.
Trunks as a child during the Majin Buu arc is shown to be quite cocky and stingy, most likely due to the fact that this Trunks grew up with his father Vegeta and enjoyed the luxuries of peace, while Future Trunks grew up without Vegeta and in an apocalyptic world. Trunks tends to take control over the younger Goten, stating to him numerous times how he is both older and stronger (during childhood). Trunks at first also has his doubts about Goku, whom he originally believes is not as strong as his father. Later on Trunks does gain more respect for Goku after seeing Goku's Super Saiyan 3 power in action. Despite this, Trunks still retains a sweet childhood nature as well, and as he matures up until Dragon Ball GT, slowly starts to act more like his alternate future counterpart did. In Dragon Ball New Age, Trunks has matured significantly, and takes a far more serious approach to his training and lifestyle..
Trunks was born in the year 766 Age to Vegeta and Bulma. This of course makes him a Saiyan and Human hybrid.
Dragon Ball Z, and the end of the Baby SagaEdit
Due to the fracture in time during the Baby Saga of Dragon Ball GT, Trunks' history up until that point had changed very little (save for Anime-Only events, Movies, and Filler, all of which did not exist or happen until this point).
Dragon Ball GT (Altered Timeline)Edit
Following the defeat of Baby and Son Goku's ascension to Super Saiyan 4, the timelime split into two directions. One direction was the Dragon Ball GT known by all, while the other was a direction that followed Manga Canon (The DBNA Universe).
A year later, Trunks sneaks away from work to see the 31st World Martial Arts Tournament. Due to the fact that it was too late for him to compete, he observes the matches along with Gohan, Videl, and Kuririn.
A month later, Trunks is ambushed by a brainwashed No.17. Wounded, he goes to the home of Son Goku to warn the group. Later, Trunks joins up with Goten, Oob, Pan, Gohan and Vegeta to fight the brainwashed No.17 and the evil Clone 17. Trunks then joins the fight against Super 17, but is unable to defeat him even with the help of Gohan, Goten, Majuub, and his father Vegeta. Eventually, Super 17 is defeated by Goku with the help of Android 18. Trunks is then taken back to Capsule Corporation by his father to recover from his injuries. After repairing Giru, they search for the Dragon Balls on Earth to repair all the damage caused on the planet.
When Black Smoke Shenron rises from the Dragon Balls to the Super Warriors, Trunks is shown attempting to calm his mother after Old Kai claimed she was responsible for Black Smoke Shenron's existence. Later, against Syn Shenron, Trunks tries to restore Goku's energy once again along with Goten and Gohan. After the dragon transforms into Omega Shenron and Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta suggests he and Goku fuse to defeat him, Trunks along with Gohan, Goten and Majuub tries to hold off Omega long enough for Goku and Vegeta to fuse. Trunks is the last person to stall Omega by performing an explosive wave to distract Omega while Goku and Vegeta perform the Fusion Dance. They are successful and Goku and Vegeta form Gogeta, however Gogeta defuses before he can finish Omega off.
Later on when Goku is presumed dead by Omega Shenron, Vegeta decides the Earth's best bet is for him to try and defeat Omega Shenron while everyone else escapes. Before sending them off, Vegeta requests that Goten, Gohan, Trunks continue the fight if he fails. The three half-Saiyans say goodbye to their families and decide to go back to help Vegeta in the fight but they are all easily defeated. However they do succeed in distracting Omega long enough for Goku to charge his Spirit Bomb which destroys the Shadow Dragon. After Son Goku asks Shenron to grant his last wish to restore the lives of those killed since Super 17 and dies, Trunks is last seen telling Pan that Son Goku can finally find peace.
Dragon Ball New Age Edit
Two years after the defeat of Omega Shenron, Trunks and Pan are on their way to No.18's Inauguration Party when the Skycar they are in is struck by Lightning and forced to make an emergency landing. Taking refuge in a cave, Pan wanders to the back of the cave where she discovers an old forge. Trunks is astonished when she comes across not only blueprints for Dragon Balls, but the Black Dragon Balls themselves. In her typical impulsiveness, she summons the dragon despite Trunks' disapproval. Once Son Goku and Piccolo are revived by Pan's wish, he attends the party as planned.
The Battle with the Legendary Saiyan Edit
One year after the revival of Son Goku, Trunks is searching for the Black Dragon Balls, apparently for fun, until he feels the power released by Rigor. He immediately heads towards and joins the battle against his Uncle, who brushes aside Trunks, Goten, and Piccolo in less than a minute. He joins the battle again later to try and distract Rigor long enough for Goku and Vegeta to fuse, but is taken down easily. As he and the others are leaving the battleground following Rigor's defeat, he is admonished by Elder Kaioshin, who forbids them to use the Black Dragon Balls ever again.
Training, and the threat of AladjinnEdit
After being forbidden to use the Namek Dragon Balls and warned of the dangers of the Black Dragon Balls, Trunks begins training for an entire month along with his father, Vegeta. During this time, Trunks' powers grow phenominally. When Aladjinn, the Aspect Lord of Darkness, possesses Vegeta and defeats Son Goku, Trunks and Son Gohan step up to fill their father's roles as the protectors of Earth. Confronting Aladjinn, Trunks erupts in rage, revealing that his training has allowed him to ascend to Super Saiyan 2.
- Ki Blast, the most basic form of energy wave.
- Flight, the ability to fly using one's ki.
- Buster Cannon, similar to Vegeta's Final Flash where Trunks gathers energy in each of his hands and forms it into a large ball, pulls it back and fires at the opponent.
- Explosive Wave, Trunks charges up his whole body with energy and then releases that energy into a giant explosion to cause serious damage to any opponents caught inside the explosion. He used this attack to try to stop Omega Shenron so his father and Goku can do the fusion.
- Kamehameha, Trunks learned this move likely from Goten or Gohan, using it in the battle against Rigor.
