Son Goken is an important character in Super Dragon Ball Z, and is one who holds one of the most prevalent mainstays of the series. He is the first born son of Son Goku and Chichi, and is the eldest of five siblings including himself, being the older brother of Gohan, Gomei, Goten, and Gorin respectively in that order.

Chichi gave birth to Goken shortly after the defeat of king piccolo's reincarnation, piccolo junior. Goken, being a wild, reckless and dangerous child, on behalf of the impressive power level he was naturally born with, had his father take care of him and train him in order to tame and subjugate the enormous fluxes of power which would explode fourth from his body.
